Let the Church be the Church

We are living in unprecedented days. We are making decisions on whether or not to close the church doors. Let’s understand you can close the doors to the building. You can cease to meet together on campus. As sad as that is, there is a great lesson to be learned. The Church is not the buildings, the Church is not the campus. The Church is the Believers, the People of God, the Born Again Christians, the Redeemed of the Lord. We are the Church! Wherever you are the Church is there. So, in the midst of this crisis with the doors of the building closed and the campuses empty, what should we be doing?

We should Point Unbelievers to Christ
(Luke 19:10) “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
This was the priority for Christ, it should be for us. We should always be ready to tell our story.

We should Encourage other believers in their relationship with Christ
How important it is for us to lift each other up. Be an encouragement to those in the family that are having troubles in the midst of this chaos. Speak life into people. Allow God to use you to minister to those who cross your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. accounts. Be the one who speaks or types an encouraging word in the name of Jesus.

We should Minister to those in Need
The early New Testament church was exemplary in this arena. They believed that as God blessed that they should share with others. This is not “wealth distribution”, this is “grace distribution”. As you can help your neighbors.
(Acts 4:33-34) “And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34that there were no needy persons among them.”
As God blesses you, Bless someone else.

We should Be Salt and Light in our community.
Jesus said the church is to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We are to hold to our convictions not with legalistic attitude, but with love. It is important that as we stand, that our community see the Love of Jesus in us constantly. There is never a time for the church not to love people.
(Matthew 5:13-14) "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world.

We should Bring Glory to the Father
(Matthew 5:16) “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Let’s be the Church for the sake of our Community (World).
